You don’t need any special skills to make the Cayman dance. You can accelerate, point, turn. Brake, turn, accelerate. Turn, accelerate, accelerate. Cha cha cha. Unlike a Corvette C6 or BMW Z4M, the Cayman is the perfect partner; always ready to subsume its personality to flatter yours. In that sense, it's also the perfect teacher. With its reptilian grip, unflappable suspension, seat belt imprinting brakes and benign limits, you don’t have to get it right to A) live B) have fun and live. Just like the Boxster and Boxster S, the Cayman S makes you a better driver without ever punishing you for being a bad one." - Robert Farago

"The moment I dropped the hammer on the Porsche Cayman S, an entirely unexpected emotion welled-up inside: fear.  I was holding the wheel of the world’s best sports car on a perfectly-groomed country road and I couldn’t fully commit to a corner.  I wasn’t afraid of crashing— the Cayman is far too accomplished and forgiving and electronically mindful for that.  I was afraid of the unknown." - Robert Farago - www.truthaboutcars.com

"... truly unique mid-engined two-seater sports car is powered by a 3.4-litre 295 bhp horizontally-opposed six-cylinder accelerating the Cayman S to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and providing a top speed of 275 km/h or 183 mph. Benefiting from its supreme body stiffness and superb balance of weight with the power unit upfront of the rear axle, the Cayman S is a genuine driving machine..." - www.topspeed.com

"If you’ve never sampled a Cayman S (or a Boxster or Boxster S), here’s what happens.  For the first dozen miles or so, you think it's far too easy to drive for a “real” sports car.  Porsche's boffins have weighted all the major controls for delicacy and precision, rather than heft.  The helm answers with mindless ease.  The clutch action is lighter than a pedal-operated trash can (and plays like a slide trombone).  The brakes shed speed without apparent effort.  Once you get acclimatized, the Cayman S loses its chick car shtick… and starts to resemble an adrenalin-crazed hunting dog bouncing on its paws, waiting for that blissful moment when it can finally realize its genetic imperative. And so it does.  The harder you thrash the Cayman S, the more sense it makes.  The car suddenly gets fitter, better, stronger, happier.  You forget the Cayman’s incredible lightness of being, and concentrate on its incredible fleetness of foot.  (There are four-term congressmen who can’t change direction as fast as this car." - Robert Farago - www.thetruthaboutcars.com

"Start with the Boxster's already beautifully balanced chassis in a closed-top model. Add more body rigidity and more sporting suspension tuning, and wrap it all up with a higher-output flat-6 engine. Conceptually, this newest Porsche sports car shares the same powertrain/chassis configuration with many of today's topline race cars and high-performance exotics — the mighty Carrera GT included... On the road through the Black Forest, the Cayman S snakes through the bends with absolute composure. Even though the pavement is damp from an earlier rainstorm, the car never loses traction when driven at a moderate pace. And when you do carry a bit too much speed into a corner, the Porsche Stability Management (PSM) traction and yaw control intervenes ever so softly to keep all four wheels on the asphalt and the car pointed in the right direction." - www.roadandtrack.com

There are plenty of independent surveys to back up this assertion. Porsche’s Finnish subcontractors, Valmet Automotive, recently received the Bronze Plant Quality Award from J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study 2006. The Cayman S was ranked best overall (together with Toyota Lexus LS 430) for having the fewest quality problems in the entire industry. The Cayman S was best in its category "Compact Premium Sporty Cars,” with the Porsche Boxster ranked third. And Porsche was awarded the highest initial quality of all automobile brands. - Don Vorderman - www.thetruthaboutcars.com

"I had ordered a '07 BMW 3-Series Coupe and I thank God every day I get into this car that I purchased a Cayman instead of waiting for the BMW. This car fits like a glove and drives like a dream. I find myself feeling sorry for all those people driving anything other than a Porsche." - "This is my first Porsche and I absolutely love it! I drove a Jaguar before this one and I definitely prefer the Porsche Cayman. It captures attention every time I'm on the road." - "I traded in my 2004 Nissan 350Z and what a difference. The Cayman is refined, has smooth power, incredible brakes, and handling that is go-cart like. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and this design is a BEAUTY! It has class, balance, and style. My Cayman has no options except 18" Cayman S wheels which I highly recommend and the Arctic Silver Metallic paint. You don't need anything else and this gets you a sub $50,000 race car for the road. This car is quick, agile, light, and fast. The brakes are incredible and the handling...no one keeps up with me on the twisties! This car is comfortable for me at 6'2" and it has lots of storage. It looks and sounds amazing." - "In everyday driving the Cayman is civilized, comfortable, and easy to drive. When the traffic thins out and the road opens up, it takes on a whole different personality, gobbling up twists and turns with the engine roaring like a savage beast. After a month I still haven't really used the Bose sound system. The sound of the engine is even better music to my ears. Now that the break-in period is over, I can savor the sounds of the upper rpm range... sweeeet!" - "This is easily the best overall perfoming car that I have owned. It feels quicker than my BMW M3, except from 70 mph up. Its handling outshines all (for the money) except the Lotus Elise, but the build quality and sound from behind you more than make up for any performance difference. The ride quality allows for daily driving without punishment. Additionally, the manual transmission is wonderfully weighted and precise."
